Memorial Day Weekend 2019: Parades, Services On The East End
Hometown spirit will be in full force as, decked out in patriotic colors, crowds come out to honor heroes and kick off the summer season.

EAST END, NY — Memorial Day weekend has long signified a time to honor those men and women who made the greatest sacrifice, so that others might live in freedom.
As families flock to the both the North and South Forks for the holiday weekend, here's a roundup of happenings — where to pay tribute at Memorial Day parades and ceremonies.
North Fork

Orient Memorial Day Parade
The annual parade kicks off at the Orient Firehouse at 7:30 a.m. on Monday, Memorial Day, heading down Tabor Road, Orchard Street, Navy Street, Village Lane and along Route 25.

Greenport Memorial Day Parade and Dock Service
The heartfelt annual Greenport Memorial Day Parade and dock service includes Scouts and community members who will step off at 8 a.m. on Monday, Memorial Day, behind the Arcade, march along Front Street and head to the Railroad Dock for a short, moving service, where flowers will be tossed into the harbor in memory.
Southold Memorial Day Parade
This year's parade will take place in Greenport on Monday, May 27 at 10 a.m. Hosted by the Greenport American Legion, step off will take place after a short ceremony at Veterans Memorial Park as the parade wends its way from Steamboat Corner at 1st Street and Main to 3rd and Front Street.

Riverhead's Memorial Day Parade
The annual Combined Veterans of Riverhead parade, which kicks off at 10 a.m., heads from West Main to the World War II memorial, where a service takes place at 11.m.
traveling from West Main Street, up Roanoke Avenue to the World War II memorial at the Pulaski Street School, where a ceremony will be held at 11 a.m.
Caverton National Cemetery
The annual ceremony takes place at 1 p.m. on Memorial Day.
South Fork
Sag Harbor
The Sag Harbor Memorial Day Parade kicks off on Monday at 9 a.m. on Main Street.
Hampton Bays
The annual Hampton Bays Memorial Day Parade and Service, hosted by the American Legion's Hand Aldrich Post 924, begins at 10 a.m. at the Legion on Ponquogue Avenue.
Southampton
Southampton's annual parade, hosted by the Village of Southampton Commission on Veterans Patriotic Events, steps off on Main Street at the Presbyterian Church, along Jobs Lane, to Agawam Park, where a memorial service will take place to honor the nation's heroes at 11 a.m.
Montauk
A Montauk Memorial Day Flag Ceremony will take place on the Green, time to be determined. For additional information, call the Montauk Chamber of Commerce at 631-668-2428.
