Missing Cat, Boo, Lost, Doesn't Know How To Find Home
Boo is an indoor cat who's never lived in his Greenport home; he's been missing for a week and his owners are heartbroken. Have you see him?

GREENPORT, NY — Boo, an indoor cat from Florida who's never lived in his Greenport home, went missing on his first day in the village, and his owners are desperately searching for him.
Boo, said Libby Hasselman, who brought the six-year old Maine coon cat from Florida with her husband Eric, has been missing since Monday, May 21 from 5th Street in Greenport.
He was wearing a blue collar with his name and number and a red harness.

"He has not been outside before, and also has never been to this house," Hasselman said.
The Hasselmans summer in Greenport and live in Florida during the winters; they first brought Boo home in December.

"He's never been here in Greenport. The day we arrived, a week ago, we drove up from Florida — he wasn't crazy about the drive," she said.
When they arrived at their condo on 5th street, where the condo is separated from the parking lot by a large hedge, workers were cutting and blowing the grass, she said. "It scared him to death and he bolted."
An indoor cat, Boo lives in the couple's ninth floor apartment in Florida, which has a lanai. His previous owner, she said, had just a corner patio.
"He's never been in the grass, in the cold, or in the rain," she said.
Boo has since been spotted on 6th street several times, but not since Tuesday, even though a Have a Heart Trap was put out Wednesday. "He didn't touch it," Hasselman said.
The last time he was seen on Tuesday, Boo was hiding under someone's table in the backyard but he ran away. "He's very spooked," Hasselman said. "He's a sweet, nice cat. I'm just afraid he's been snatched."
Soon after they arrived, someone saw Boo on the couple's front porch, on a bench, but he ran again when he heard the lawn mower. "He hates noise," she said.
As they search the streets constantly for their beloved pet, Hasselman prays to bring him home safely. "We're heartbroken," she said.
