More Than 17K People Without Power Across LI After Severe Thunderstorms, Heat Sock Area: PSEG

LONG ISLAND, NY— After days of extreme heat and then, fierce thunderstorms on the evening of July 4, almost 17,000 were people were left without power Saturday night, according to the PSEG Long Island outage map.

As of about 10:30 p.m., 17,098 people were without power, and crews were working to restore service, PSEG Long Island said.
