NFCT's Annual Gala, 'Broadway By The Bay' Raises Renovation Funds

Funds raised will be used to renovate the well-loved North Fork Community Theatre.

NORTH FORK, NY — This weekend, efforts continue to raise funds to renovate an iconic theater on the North Fork.

The North Fork Community Theatre's annual "Building on Tradition" gala, "Broadway by the Bay" will take place Saturday, June 17, at Veterans Park in Mattituck.

Guests can attend either a matinee at 2 p.m. or an evening performance at 6:30 p.m. under a large tent overlooking the Peconic Bay.

The gala features Broadway show tunes by members of the NFCT, including a preview performance from this year's NFCT Youth On Stage summer show "9 to 5."

In addition to NFCT performers singing show tunes, entertainment at the gala will include:
- Broadway performer Lee Zarrett, whose Broadway credits include "My Fair Lady," "Hair", "Peter and the Star Catcher," and "25th Annual Putnam Spelling Bee"
- The Riverhead High School string quartet
- Live painting by Lorraine Remmlin at 2 p.m. and Alan Bull at 6 p.m. Each painting will be auctioned off at the end of the show
- "The Second Hands". A North Fork husband and wife duo characterized by warm vocals and deceptively simple folk melodies.

The NFCT gala raises funds to renovate and breathe new life into the treasured theater — with efforts focused on a new lobby, auditorium and new seats.
