MATTITUCK, NY — Although there are no confirmed or reported cases of coronavirus among students or staff at the Mattituck-Cutchogue School District, the district will be closed Friday and Monday.

The decision was made, according to a letter on the district's website "out of an abundance of caution, and the recommendation of the Suffolk County Department of Health." The district will be using two out of its four allotted snow days. All after-school extra-curricular activities will be canceled through Monday.

School officials said they will continue to be in regular contact with the Suffolk County Department of Health and will continue to keep staff and families apprised of any additional information.
