North Fork Coronavirus: Memorial Day Parade Canceled
The parade had been scheduled to take place on May 25.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A beloved annual Southold tradition has been canceled in light of the number of new coronavirus cases that continues to rise on the North Fork.
"At the request of the Memorial Day Parade organizers and the American Legion members, Supervisor Scott Russell has canceled the town's Memorial Day Parade, which was scheduled to take place in Mattituck on May 25," Russell said.
Gov. Andrew Cuomo's stay-at-home order is currently in place until May 15. As of Wednesday, there was a total of 28,943 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Suffolk County, with 282 of those in Southold Town.
