North Fork Garage Erupts In Flames

BREAKING: The fire broke out about 1:30 p.m., officials say.

EAST MARION, NY — A garage in East Marion erupted in flames Friday afternoon.

The fire, which broke out just after 1:30 p.m. at a detached two-car garage on Bay Avenue, gutted the structure. No homes were affected and no injuries were reported. The owner of the residence and garage was not home at the time, Southold Town Police said at the scene.

Neighbor Nancy Messer said she'd gone home to walk her dogs and saw the garage ablaze next-door to her home.
