Here's a guide to all the patriotic happenings on the North Fork and nearby to celebrate July 4, 2018.

NORTH FORK, NY — Beloved North Fork Independence Day celebrations return this year with fireworks, parades, and patriotic spirit a'plenty.
- The fun begins on Saturday, June 30, with the Orient Harbor Independence Day Fireworks, which begin at 9:15 p.m.
- Also on June 30, Riverhead Raceway, located at 1797 Old Country Road, will host its fireworks show at 9 p.m., along with a NASCAR Night 68th Year Celebration that's slated to include a four-cylinder demo and a kids big wheel race.

- On Sunday, July 1, the Oysterponds Historical Society presents its annual Heritage Day celebration from noon to 3 p.m. A parade begins at noon at the Civil War Monument on Village Lane, followed by a reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Old Point Schoolhouse. The event includes hot dogs, music, and games at Poquatuck Park. All are welcome; the event is free and open to the public.
- The Greenport Fire Department's annual Phenix Hook & Ladder Co. and Relief Hose Company Carnival will take place at the Polo Grounds on Moores Lane in Greenport from July 3 through July 7, beginning at 6 p.m., with fireworks slated for July 5 and July 7 at 10 p.m.

- On July 4, the annual Southold Village Merchants' Fourth of July parade kicks off at noon, with the parade heading along Main Road from Boisseau Avenue to Tuckers Lane in a burst of patriotic red, white and blue.
- Also on July 4, the New Suffolk Civic Association hosts its annual July 4 parade, beginning at 11 a.m. at the intersection of New Suffolk Road and Tuttle Road.
- On July 5, the Riverhead Business Improvement District's annual Independence Day fireworks celebration will take place on the Peconic Riverfront, immediately following the kickoff of the Alive on 25 Summer Street Festival in downtown Riverhead, which takes place from 5 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.
- On July 6, fireworks will be featured at 10 p.m. at Peconic Bay Medical Center's Family Festival, located at 6164 Route 25A in Wading River.Patch file photo.
- Shelter Island's fireworks are set to delight on Saturday, July 7, from 9 p.m. to 9:45 p.m. on Crescent Beach.
