North Fork Man Arrested After Crashing Into Vehicle While Intoxicated, Leaving Scene: PD
The vehicle was found at a nearby parking lot with substantial front end damage, police say.
MATTITUCK, NY — A Mattituck man was arrested after crashing into a vehicle and leaving the scene while intoxicated, police said.
According to Southold Town police, the incident took place at 4:11 p.m. on March 17, on Sound Avenue in Mattituck.
Zachary William Cantner, 36, was arrested and charged with aggravated DWI and leaving the scene of a crash with property damage, police said.

Police said that authorities were called to the scene of the crash, where an individual said he had been struck on the passenger side of his vehicle.
After a search, the vehicle was found at a nearby parking lot with substantial front end damage, police said.

Cantner was interviewed and admitted to getting into a crash and leaving the scene; he was also found to be intoxicated, police said.
He was arrested, processed, and held at Southold Town police headquarters for morning arraignment, police said.
