North Fork Man Drove Drunk With 5-Year Old In Car: Cops

A report came in about the man driving "erratically" and "swerving," police say.

CUTCHOGUE, NY — A Cutchogue man was arrested after he was caught driving drunk with a five-year-old in his car, police said.

According to Riverhead Town Police, Adam A. Slater, 38, was arrested on Saturday at 11:15 p.m. after officers responded to reports of a vehicle swerving and someone driving "erratically."

Slater was located on Sound Avenue near West Lane in Aquebogue with a five-year old in the vehicle, police said.

He was charged with driving with while intoxicated, Leandra's Law, a felony, as well as driving while intoxicated, a felony, due to a previous DWI conviction, police said.
