North Fork Students Participate in Job Shadow Event
The event was part of an effort by North Fork Business Advisory Committee to keep students local.
Students from several North Fork students recently participated in a job shadow event at various local businesses recently.
Last Friday, April 17, 60 juniors from Greenport, Mattituck and Southold High Schools took part in the event.
Lu Anne Nappe of Mattituck High School, Kathy Williams of Southold High School, and Brandi Hopkins of Greenport High School, begin planning this event a year in advance with the North Fork Business Advisory Committee so that there is enough time to find businesses willing to participate.

The event was part of an attempt to keep the students locally as the mission of the North Fork Business Advisory Committee is to help keep graduating students on Long Island and preferably on the North Fork.
The job shadow gave the students an opportunity to explore a career students may be interested in and to confirm that this is the career path students want to take.
