North Fork Winery Deemed 'Perfect New York Vineyard'

PECONIC, NY — A popular North Fork winery has garnered some rave reviews statewide.

Sannino Vineyard, located at 1375 Peconic Lane in Peconic, was recently called "the perfect North Fork vineyard" by onlyinyourstate.com.

Sannino Vineyard drew props on the site because not only it is an "amazing wine destination," but also a great bed and breakfast, where guests can enjoy complimentary wine tasting and a cheese platter, a full, hot breakfast and bucolic vineyard views, the post said. The "dreamy" locale offers a "Tuscan style getaway," offering wine tasting, tours, and educational events, the post said.

Italy has long been a part of winemaker Anthony Sannino's soul, the vineyard's website said.

"The culture of wine was embodied in my soul at the very young age of 13 with one of my first visits with family on the island where my mom was born in Italy," he wrote.

Sannino spoke to Patch this week about the honor. "My wife Lisa and I are humbled and honored by New York States recognition of our efforts," he said.

They both, he said, have worked diligently since 2007 to provide impeccable hospitality to bed and breakfast guests.

"As our winemaker I have been focused on producing wines that complement our region and exemplify true varietal character," Sannino said. "We will continue to strive to elevate our visitors experience through an unforgettable, interactive and wholesome agri-tourism approach."
