Obituary: Elizabeth M. Dickerson, of Southold, Dies at 90

Elizabeth M. Dickerson, of Southold, died on October 12, 2015. She was 90.

Dickerson was born on June 4, 1925 in Greenport, to Joseph F. and Elsie V. (nee McMann) Carroll and was a graduate of Southold High School.

On November 22, 1947, she married George V. Dickerson at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church in Southold.

She was a communicant of St. Patrick’s R.C. Church and a member of the Rosary Society there.

She was also a volunteer for American Cancer Society.

Dickerson was predeceased by her husband on June 23, 2008.

She is survived by her children: Elizabeth Carr of Concord, NC, George Robert Dickerson (Peggy) of Cutchogue, Susan Mohr (Christopher) of Middletown, CT and Carol Mills (Robert) of East Marion; eight grandchildren: Jennifer Tyndall, Robert Dickerson, Timothy and Kati Mohr, Sara Tirelli, Lauren Reedy and Mariah and Robert Mills and seven great-grandchildren: Aaron, Darrian, Haylie, Corey, Casey, Sean and Hanna.

The family will receive friends on Thursday, Oct. 15 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. at DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Southold.

The Liturgy of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 16 at 10 a.m at St. Patrick’s R.C. Church by Father Peter Garry. Interment will follow at St. Patrick’s R.C. Cemetery.
