Obituary: Eunice A. Armbrust, Lifelong Mattituck Resident, Dies at 86

Visitation will take place on Thursday.

Died: January 3, 2016

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Thursday, January 7 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home in Mattituck.

Services: The funeral service will be held on Friday, January 8 starting at 10 a.m. at Mattituck Presbyterian Church. Interment will follow at New Bethany Cemetery.

Obituary: Eunice A. Armbrust, a lifelong resident of Mattituck, passed away on Sunday, Jan. 3. She was 86.

Armburst was born on September 25, 1929 to George and Myra (Wells) Aldrich.

She graduated from Mattituck High School in 1946 and went on to Brown’s Business School in Queens.

In 1952, she married Walter E. Armbrust of Mattituck. A longtime member of the Mattituck Presbyterian Church, she sang in the church choir for 65 years as well as the North Fork Chorale. She loved to sing.

Armburst later enjoyed a career as a secretary with Reeve Lumber and then Harold R. Reeve and Sons; retiring at the age of 82

She was predeceased by her husband in 1992 and a son, Philip, in 1987, as well as a sister, Ruth Maddock and brothers, Earl and Walter.

She is survived by a son, George, of Mattituck.

In lieu of flowers, donations to Mattituck Presbyterian Church or the Mattituck Fire Department would be appreciated.
