Obituary: Marie R. Boutcher, of Laurel, Dies at 93

Visitation will take place on Friday.

Died: November 11, 2015

Visitation: The family will receive friends on Friday, Nov. 13 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the DeFriest-Grattan Funeral Home on the Main Road in Mattituck.

Services: Funeral services will be held on Saturday morning at 10 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Laurel Cemetery.

Obituary: Marie R. Boutcher, of Laurel, died on Wednesday, Nov. 11. She was 93.

Boutcher was born in Bay Shore on November 16, 1921 to Robert Raymond and Bessie May (nee Foster) Ryder.

She was a music teacher at Riverhead BOCES, teaching being her true passion.

She also gave private lessons in her home for many years.

Boutcher was active for many years in the Mattituck Presbyterian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir.

After retiring, she was a volunteer for RSVP. She also enjoyed spending time with her beloved family.

She was predeceased by her husband, Frederic H. Boutcher, Jr. on December 13, 1995.

Boutcher is survived by sons; Robert F. (Sharon), Frederic, III and Gerald (Arta); five grandchildren: Johanna Gamboa, Frederic Boutcher IV, Nathan Boutcher, Andrew Boutcher and Emmadora Boutcher and six great-grandchildren.

She is also survived by her twin sister, Betty Brown.
