Personally, I wrote RALPH MACCHIO when he made his Broadway debut as he co-starred with ROBERT DI NIRO on Broadway in CUBA AND HIS TEDDY BEAR while residing in Jamaica Estates (Queens, New York). His forwarded reply postmarked in January 1990 was delivered to my Southold Founders Village address.

Now I dwell in Colonial Village in Southold –{&}- I was saddened to have missed the Riverhead Barnes & Noble RALPH MACCHIO book-signing event.

Not-to-fear… as the Riverhead Barnes & Noble still had the bestseller in stock. Sunday, January 29 {2023} I went to that shop and purchased a copy. One can say “I have six degrees of Ralph Macchio!”

In re-locating to Southold I maintain my professionals' collection with copies of drafts of letters to professionals in a file cabinet. I recently went thru the letter "M" -{&}- found a December 3, 1988 handwritten copy to Mr Ralph Macchio. Just for the sake of it here is what I wrote in text format now, okay -{?}-
"Dear Mr Ralph Macchio,
This countryside fan wants to write to you to wish you well - I wanted to write during CUBA AND HIS TEDDY BEAR but was planning a move from Queens to Long Island's Suffolk County - I am a theater major who likes to keep abreast of professional careers to inspire my own work.
Your Johnny in "The Outsiders" is well noted as well as the three "Karate Kids" and "The Three Wishes of Billy Grier" in which the character was to have rapidly aged over a year's time and "Eight is Enough," too, right?
I went to the American Academy of Dramatic Arts for two years and learned to be myself, have a knowledge of what once happened and where to be when it happens again.
"Only Kidding" sounds worthwhile and I would be happy to have your career updated. Since I missed CUBA AND HIS TEDDY BEAR and have settled in my new home, and, hopefully, if I haven't overstayed my welcome, could I ask for a PLAYBILL and would you sign it? Not to be a pest, this guy sends an envelope for reply.
