Opioid Overdose Prevention Seminar, Narcan Training Offered
The Southold Fire Department and the North Fork Volunteer Rescue Squad have teamed up to present the event, aimed at saving lives.

SOUTHOLD, NY — As the war against the escalating opioid crisis continues, the Southold Fire Department and the North Fork Volunteer Rescue Squad Association have teamed up to present an opioid overdose prevention and NARCAN training .
The event will take place at the Southold Fire Department headquarters, located at 55135 Main Road, on Thursday, Dec. 28 from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
"The program is open to all members of the North Fork community and offers an opportunity to learn about the latest, most potent and most dangerous opioid substances," the SFD said.

All participants will receive training in the proper administration of Narcan and will be supplied with a Narcan kit to use in case of emergency.
Seating for the program is limited, so it is necessary to register by calling the SFD at (631) 765-3385 or by emailing nfvrsa@aol.com.

"As everyone knows, opioid use and overdose is one of the most serious problems facing our communities. Please make time to attend this program so you will be able to identify opioid problems and provide assistance when necessary," the SFD said.
