Please complete this statement: The single most pressing issue facing my constituents is ____, and this is what I intend to do about it.
Housing. With the price of houses reaching anywhere from $700,000 to well over a million, I feel we are overpricing homes for our children to live here in the future. I'm hoping to have a voice to keep both prices of homes down and not allow taxes to rise.
What needs to be done to address water quality issues on LI?
Since we do not have a sewer system in our town, we need to find ways to process our waste. We need better drainage systems and we need to educate the households on water conservation. We may need to look into alternate days on watering lawns to help conserve.
What do you think can be done to help improve our infrastructure, highways, etc.?
Constant checking on our roads and infrastructure and repair what is damaged or needs to be repaired.
How would you plan to help local business owners, who are struggling because of high rents, inflation and labor shortages?
We need to promote our local business and that you do not have to travel 20 miles to get what we have here. Also promote our jobs here and get those looking for jobs excited to work here.
What are the major differences between you and the other candidate seeking this post?
Being a little older I feel I have a little more work experience and being a volunteer firefighter and EMT I have worked in many under-pressure situations.
What other issues do you intend to address during your campaign?
Keeping taxes at an affordable rate.
What accomplishments in your past would you cite as evidence you can handle this job?
Ran a $25 million bookstore in the World Trade Center for a number of years with a staff of 100 or more before going into healthcare management for an optical company doing education with optical shops in the northeast region.
What is the best advice anyone ever gave you?
Be honest and admit that you made a mistake when you make one.
