
GREENPORT, NY — A pedestrian was struck by a vehicle in Greenport Saturday, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, the incident took place on Front Street at 4:22 p.m.; the pedestrian was struck and injured when the driver of a tan 1995 Toyota was in the process of making a left-hand turn from Front Street onto Third Street, authorities said.
The driver didn't see the pedestrian, who was walking east on Front Street and was halfway through the marked pedestrian crosswalk, police said.

The man suffered an injury to his leg and was treated by Greenport Fire Department personnel was later transported to Peconic Bay Medical Center for further medical evaluation, police said.
