PEG MURRAY - the Broadway CABARET TONY AWARD WINNER

KINDLY NOTE: Harold Prince has been recognized as the TOP-earning Tony Award winner having earned twenty-one Tony Awards. He is truly some outstanding director and producer who takes the time consistently to make others involved in his productions truly become exceptional thespians in their own right. {Take for example Broadway’s CABARET actress PEG MURRAY, who won a TONY AWARD as Best Featured Actress in a Musical herself for performance in that 1960s musical and CABARET in the 1960s was PRODUCED -&- directed by Harold PRINCE. PEG MURRAY went to play the mother role of Golda in FIDDLER IN THE ROOF that was directed by HAROLD PRINCE, and she ran as Golda for three years! PEG MURRAY formed the Greenport NY Northeast Stage Theatre Company, having written and directing productions for that Company.
Such honest loving-respect is being felt. PEG MURRAY was so dynamic. She resided in Southold and later had to re-locate to Peconic Landing. Being mutual friends and having the chance to work with her and her Northeast Stage Company was so beneficial.
Peg Murray is Aquarius and she was BORN on February 14th, 1924.
The 1967 musical HAIR included a medley of Aquarius/Let the Sunshine In by James Rado, and Gerome Ragni, {along with composer} Gail MacDermott. The 5th DIMENSION were renown for singing the song-version -&- it was awarded Grammy Record of the Year in 1969.
As that “number” has it – PEG MURRAY – TOO – will “steer the stars” {with} “harmony and understanding” as PEG truly did have a way to“Let the Sunshine in”
