Photos: Angels Galore Honor Kaitlyn Doorhy During Cutchogue Holiday House Tour
Angels came together to keep Kaitlyn Doorhy's memory alive in New Suffolk.
NEW SUFFOLK, NY — The Cutchogue Holiday House Tour and tree lighting on Saturday included a very special event organized to honor an angel.
One stop on the tour included the historic New Suffolk School, where, under the direction of dedicated school employees Sarah Campbell and Jeannette Cooper — who volunteered their time during the event — the school was transformed into an angel themed atmosphere.
Students and teachers made ornaments to sell and ran an angel wreath raffle, with all proceeds donated to Kait's Angel's, a not for profit organization run entirely by volunteers that was created to honor the memory of Mattituck's Kaitlyn Doorhy, who died while away at college in a tragic accident in 2014.

The mission statement of Kait's Angels vows to give back to those in need on the North Fork.
The donations were made "in memory our our angel," said Darla Doorhy, Kait's mom.

"Today, as the day was coming to an end, an angel appeared and asked a lot of questions about Kaitlyn Doorhy and who she was," Doorhy said. "Cassidy and Tegan Nine, and Katie, Mia and Alicia Hamilton were our volunteers all day and they answered all questions pertaining to Kaitlyn. The angel turned to me, not knowing who I was and said, 'She was a beautiful girl.' I replied, 'Yes, she was,'" Doorhy said.
The woman spoke with Doorhy, as well as Sarah Campbell, who told her that Doorhy was Kait's mom.
"I was introduced to Sarah's longtime pseudo sister Lisa Edson, owner of Santa's Christmas Tree Farm in Cutchogue," Doorhy said. "She said, 'You're her mom?' I replied, "yes," and Lisa Edson, our new angel friend, said, "I want to purchase all of your hats, sweatshirts and T-shirts."
Edson said she'd bring them all to the Christmas Tree Farm Sunday, where all of her employees wore them all day, part of the Kait's Angels mission.
Also on Sunday, Doorhy said she sold her husband Joe's soy paraffin candles lip balms, which he creates to benefit Kait's Angels. All proceeds from the candle sales will benefit William Araneo, Kait's Angels president, who was just diagnosed with throat cancer, Doorhy said.
