Man Strangled Woman To Death In Greenport: Police
A 23-year-old man is charged with murder, police say.
GREENPORT, NY — A 27-year-old woman was found strangled to death inside her Greenport home Monday night and a 23-year-old man has been charged with her murder, police said.
Southold Town Police found Michelle Schiavoni dead in her home at 325 2nd St. around 10 p.m. Monday.
Suffolk Police Homicide Squad detectives located Jaime DeLeon-Tito on Osborne Avenue in Riverhead Tuesday and charged him with second degree murder in Schiavoni's death, police said.

DeLeon-Tito, of Greenport, will be held overnight at Southold Police headquarters and arraigned tomorrow at Southold Town Justice Court.
Police did not say if there was any relationship between Schiavoni and DeLeon-Tito.
