Police: Man Arrested After Threatening to Assault Man in 7-Eleven Parking Lot

A Centereach man was arrested for threatening to assault a man in the parking lot of the Mattituck 7-Eleven on Thursday night, according to Southold Town Police.

Richard Kurdt Jr., 45, threatened to cause physical harm to a Mattituck man in the store parking lot at 11:07 p.m., police said.

Kurdt had been involved in a similar incident earlier in the night, according to police.

The man requested that Kurdt be arrested, police said.

Kurdt was charged with second degree harassment, according to police.

He was transported to Southold Town Police Department headquarters, processed, and held overnight to await arraignment in Southold Town Justice Court.
