Police: Man Made Threats at Vineyard, Arrested For DWI While Driving Motor Home

A Southold man was arrested Sunday on a DWI charge while driving a motor home on Route 25.

A Southold man was arrested on a DWI charge while driving a motor home on Sunday, Sept. 28 at 5:52 p.m. according to police.

Police were investigating a harassment complaint at Pugliese Vineyard where a male was making threats towards another patron and then left in a large motor home, when they found George F. Clancy, 59, driving the motor home westbound on Route 25.

He was observed leaving his lane of travel and making an insufficient signal on a turn before he was pulled over on Deep Hole Dr.

While Clancy was being interviewed, the officer detected the odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from his breath. Clancy was found to be intoxicated and place under arrest.

He was then transported to headquarters where he was processed and held to await arraignment.
