Police: Man Hospitalized After Crashing Into Tree While Driving Drunk

The man was charged with DWI and leaving the scene of an accident, police say.

A New York City man was hospitalized after crashing into a tree while he was driving drunk in Southold on Sunday morning, according to Southold Town Police.

Patrick Mizrahi, 53, was driving a 2006 Aston Martin convertible westbound on Soundview Avenue by Mount Beulah Avenue when he left the roadway and hit a tree at about 3:15 a.m., police said.

Mizrahi then called a family member who took him to the hospital, according to police.

Hospital staff called the Southold Town Police Department to report the incident, police said.

He was being treated for a shoulder and ankle injury, police said.

Mizrahi was issued a summons for leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident, police said.

Excessive speed may have been a contributing factor, according to police.
