Man Killed, Woman Hurt in Greenport Crash Were on Honeymoon

The crash occurred Wednesday morning.

The man who was killed as well as the two people who were injured in a Greenport crash between an SUV and a Suffolk County Transit bus on Wednesday afternoon have been identified.

The driver of the SUV who was killed was identified as Jeremiah Grunblatt, 42, of Brooklyn. His passenger was his wife, 39-year-old Keturah Grunblatt. She was treated for non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The bus driver was identified as Louis Garnica, 50, of Hampton Bays, who was hospitalized for a leg injury, according to police.

The Grunblatts got married last Sunday and were on the North Fork celebrating their honeymoon, according to multiple reports.

“They were a beautiful couple,” Keturah’s mother, Catherine Stickann, told the New York Post. “I’m flying to New York to see my daughter.”

One man was killed and three people were injured in a crash between a car and a Suffolk County Transit bus in Greenport on Wednesday morning, according to Southold Town Police.

The driver of the car heading westbound on Route 25 was killed after swerving and crashing into the S92 bus, which was heading eastbound on Route 25 on the railroad bridge north of Sage Boulevard at 11:51 a.m., police said.

The driver’s wife, who was the passenger of the car, was treated with non-life threatening injuries, according to police.

The bus driver was hospitalized for a leg injury. He was treated by the Greenport Fire Department Rescue squad and transported to a local hospital for further treatment, police said.

One of the five passengers on the bus was also treated for minor injures, police said.
