Police: Mattituck Woman Arrested For Stealing Purses Inside Church

A Mattituck woman was arrested on Monday morning for allegedly stealing purses from the lobby of Advent Lutheran Church on Legion Avenue.

Two female employees of the church had reported that their purses had been stolen.

According to police, through investigation it was discovered that Sibel I Pumillo, 25, had been inside the church earlier in the day and taken the property.

Pumillo was charged with petty larceny and was transported to headquarters where she was held overnight for court.
