Information Sought On 2 Burglarized Shelter Island Homes: Police
The second residence sustained substantial interior damage, and a small fire was started within the residence, police say.
SHELTER ISLAND, NY — Suffolk County Crime Stoppers and the Shelter Island Police Department said they are asking for the public’s help to identify and locate the people who burglarized two Shelter Island homes in April.
Detectives believe multiple people entered two homes in the Silver Beach section between April 10 and April 12, police said.
The first residence sustained light interior damage and alcoholic beverages were stolen, police said. The second residence sustained substantial interior damage, and a small fire was started within the residence; alcohol was brought to the second residence and consumed, police said.
