Police: Six Arrested For Selling Alcohol to Minors
The arrests were made during a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check in Riverhead on Wednesday.

Six people were arrested for selling alcohol to minors during a New York State Liquor Authority compliance check conducted by Riverhead Town Police on Wednesday.
During the compliance check, six establishments: The Thirsy Cellar on 6324 Route 25A in Wading River; Village Beverage on 2051 North Country Road in Wading River; Alpine Wine and Liquor on 6249 Route 25A in Wading River; Valero on 4904 Route 25A in Wading River; The Wine Depot on 1968 Old Country Road in Riverhead, and 7-Eleven on 1733 Old Country Road Riverhead were found to be in violation of selling alcohol to minors, police said.
According to police, the following six clerks were arrested and charged with first degree unlawfully dealing with a child:

- Lynn Knopfke, 71, of Rocky Point
- Michael Sheehan, 18, of Wading River
- Brian Love, 30, of Port Jefferson Station
- Shah Hasan, 42, of Middle Island
- Anthony Maneri, 24, of East Moriches
- Orcun Unsal, of Mattituck
