Police: Southold Man Drives Drunk, Hits Guard Rail
The incident occurred on Monday night.

A Southold man was arrested on a DWI charge after he hit a guard rail when he was stopped by police on Monday night, according to Southold Town Police.
Justin Schwartz , 40, was seen driving on the shoulder of the roadway and left of the double yellow lines, police said.
He also struck a guard rail on Route 25 in front of Port Of Egypt where the officer made the traffic stop at 9:45 p.m., police said.

He had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage on his breath, slurred speech, blood-shot glassy eyes and was unsteady on his feet, according to police.
Schwartz also failed the standardized field sobriety tests, police said.

He was charged with driving while intoxicated and failing to maintain lane of travel, police said.
