Police: Teens on ATVs Lead Cops on Chase From Cutchogue to New Suffolk
One of the teens crashed and was hospitalized while the other was found to be in possession of a weapon, police say.

A Riverhead teen was hospitalized and another was arrested for possessing a weapon after they were tried to escape police while driving ATVs in Cutchogue on Saturday afternoon, according to Southold Town Police.
A 16-year-old female and an unidentified juvenile were seen driving ATVs eastbound on Route 25 at about 5 p.m., according to police.
Police attempted to stop the two but they fled, leading police on a chase throughout Cutchogue, eventually ending up in New Suffolk where the female crashed the ATV she was operating, according to police.

The unidentified juvenile continued trying to escape police and eventually returned to the scene where the female crashed, police said.
The juvenile was found to be in possession of metal knuckles and arrested for criminal possession of a weapon, according to police.

The juvenile was transported to police headquarters and released to a parent, police said.
The female went to the hospital where she was treated and released, police said.
She was issued numerous summonses, according to police.
Both ATVs were impounded.
