Police: Woman Locks Herself in CVS Bathroom With Prescription Drugs

The incident occurred on Thursday evening.

A Riverhead woman was arrested after locking herself in a CVS bathroom with several prescription drugs, according to Southold Town Police.

Police responded to the CVS store in Mattituck for a report of a woman locked in the bathroom on Thursday shortly before 5:45 p.m., police said.

The officer found and interviewed the woman who was identified as Gina Bruswitz, 25.

During the interview Bruswitz was found to be in possession of several prescription drugs for which she does not possess a prescription, police said.

Bruswitz was arrested for seventh degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, police said.

She was transported to police headquarters, processed and later released on bail.
