Catherine Stark Leads Suffolk County 1st Legislative District Race
With only 1 district not reported Tuesday night, Catherine Stark had the lead.

SUFFOLK COUNTY, NY — The voters have spoken: The ballots in the race for the Suffolk County 1st Legislative District were tallied and Catherine Stark, a Republican, took the lead.
With only one district left unreported Tuesday night, Stark had 11,736 votes, or 53.23 percent. Catherine Kent, a Democrat, garnered 10,306 votes, or 46.74 percent.
The two contenders were looking to fill the seat currently held by Al Krupski, who won the Southold Town supervisor's position.

Suffolk County's 1st Legislative District is geographically the largest of the 18, stretching more than 70 miles from Middle Island in Brookhaven Town, through Riverhead and Southold Towns, to Fishers Island.
