Puppies A'Plenty And Yes, A Pig, Headed To North Fork For New Homes
"If anyone is looking for a puppy, we've got you covered." Oh, yes — and even a pig!
NORTH FORK, NY — If you're looking for a sweet little puppy to snuggle, Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations for The League on the North Fork, said there will be plenty to choose from this weekend.
Stroup, who regularly organizes transports to bring homeless pups, kittens, cats, dogs up to the North Fork from Georgia for adoption, said 29 are heading to the shelters this weekend.
"We are super excited to do it again!" she said. "There were 46 animals saved last week and this week another 29 animals arrive at our shelters. We love that we can make such a difference. This community has made it possible to find homes for so many needy animals."

Discussing on this weekend's arrivals, she said: "This transport has lots of puppies coming, so if anyone is looking for a puppy, we've got you covered. Also on this transport — a pig."
The transport will be dropping off homeless dogs at the Shelter in Peconic, located at 269 Peconic Lane in Peconic, and at the Aquebogue site, located at 324 Church Lane — where they will be waiting to meet their new families and see their next chapters begin.
