BREAKING: The fire ripped through the home, leaving it completely gutted, officials say.
MATTITUCK, NY — A raging fire completely gutted a home on Rachels Road in Mattituck Saturday night— with the residence destroyed in just a matter of minutes.
According to Mattituck Fire Chief Ted Webb, the call came in at 9:31 p.m. Firefighters arrived to find the home fully involved; it appeared as though the quick-moving blaze began on the main floor and worked its way up, he said. One person was at home and got out safely, Webb said. Suffolk County Arson was on the way to investigate, he said.
No injuries were reported, Webb said.
