Easter Egg Hunts A'Plenty On East End

Grab your kids and your baskets and head out for some fun this month at a colorful array of Easter egg hunts on the East End.

The Easter Bunny has a full schedule this month, with a wide array of stops on the East End, where kids can delight in egg hunts, treats and fun galore.

Here's a roundup of some of the Easter egg hunts coming up this weekend and next.

Westhampton Beach

The Greater Westhampton Chamber of Commerce will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt on the Village Green on Saturday, April 8 from noon to 2 p.m. Following will be Story Time and pictures with Easter Bunny at the Westhampton Library at 1:30 p.m. Don't forget your Easter baskets.

East Hampton

- East Hampton Ladies' Village Improvement Society will host their annual Easter Egg Hunt on Saturday, April 8 at 95 Main Street in East Hampton, beginning promptly at 11 a.m.

"The annual Easter Egg Hunt. . . always attracts a large crowd of eager kids, parents and grandparents. Younger children roam through the Sunken Garden seeking the candy-filled eggs, while the older children search on the rest of the LVIS grounds. Prizes are given to those who find one of several golden eggs, and the Easter bunny is always present for photo-ops. Thousands of eggs are placed throughout the grounds by our member volunteers, and somehow, no matter how many eggs we add each year, they manage to disappear in no time," LVIS said.

- On Sunday, April 9, the Animal Rescue Fund of the Hamptons will host its Annual Easter Egg Hunt at the ARF Adoption Center, located at 124 Daniels Hole Road, in Wainscott from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. The event will feature crafts, refreshments and an Easter Egg Hunt for kids and their K-9 companions. Plus meet the cats and dogs available for adoption. The Easter Egg Hunt starts at 11:30 a.m. Find the Golden Egg and win a basket courtesy of Harbor Books in Sag Harbor. Flanders

- On Sunday, April 9, the Friends of the Big Duck will host an Annual Easter Duck Egg Hunt, at noon, with a rain date of April 15. The event includes prizes and surprises, and a chance to meet the Easter bunny. The event is free to children 2 to 9 years old! Please bring your own baskets!

APRIL 15

Sag Harbor

The Sag Harbor Chamber of Commerce will host its annual Easter Bonnet Parade on Saturday, April 15 at 1 p.m. "All are invited to participate. Wear your most creative and decorative Easter Bonnet and meet in front of Muse Restaurant. Follow the Easter Bunny on a sidewalk parade down Main Street to the Sag Harbor Garden Center for a FREE petting zoo. Parade starts at 1pm.

Quogue

The Quogue Wildlife Refuge will host "Eggstravaganza" on Saturday, April 15, in two sessions, from 11 a.m. to 11:45 am. and 2 p.m. to 2:45 p.m. "Inspect the Refuge egg and nest collection for ideas to create your own fun nest craft. You may want to bring a smock or an old shirt with you. We will decorate our own 'nests’ and color and decorate hard-boiled eggs to take home. A program for children ages 5-12. Reservations required, as space and supplies are limited. $8 per child. Dress appropriately, as the program may take place outside. Call 631.653.4771 or sign up by clicking here."

Southold

The Southold Fire Department will host an Easter Egg Hunt at the Firehouse on Main Road at 1 p.m. on April 15. Prizes for age groups. Toddler to 5, with parents' help. Above 5, without help.

Greenport

The Second Annual Children's Greenport Egg Roll will take place on Saturday, April 15 at Mitchell Park on Front Street. The children's event begins promptly, with 2 to 5 years at 10:30 a.m. and 6 to 10 years at noon. The event is sponsored by the Greenport Village Improvement District. Montauk

Montauk’s “Eggstravaganza” Easter egg hunt and games for kids 10 and under hatches on April 15 at 11 a.m., on the Village Green, hosted by Montauk Chamber of Commerce and the Candied Anchor. The free day of fun and games features an egg hunt by age groups, egg toss, carrot toss, sock race, bunny hop, bunny bowling and pin the tail on the bunny. Easter baskets and bunny ears are given out and prizes awarded for events. Rain date is Saturday, April 22 at 12 p.m.

“Once again we are grateful and proud of our Montauk businesses such as the Candied Anchor in this case that came up with an exciting event and helped to underwrite some costs of this free to the public community event, one of many held throughout the year,” Laraine Creegan, executive director of the Chamber, said.
