Joyful Reunion: Lost Dog Found Safe And Sound
Blu, who was found in Peconic, was locked in a barn. "I'm over the moon. My best friend is back," his overjoyed owner says.
PECONIC, NY — It's a happy ending for a man whose missing dog was found safe.
Blu, a three-year old gray and white male pit bull, Blu, who was missing since Tuesday, was found locked up in the loft of a barn where his owner, Nathan Uys, had already checked.
"I'm over the moon," Uys said. "My heart was so heavy, but now I feel like I'm alive again. My best friend is back."

Uys, who is from out of town and lives in Kentucky and Tennessee, has been in Peconic pursuing his work as a farrier. On Tuesday, he was at a barn on Indian Neck Ln. in Peconic when his beloved pooch went missing.
Aside from one sighting Tuesday evening on Stillwater Ave. in Cutchogue, Blue hadn't been spotted again until Thursday.

"I'm devastated," Uys said Thursday, when his beloved four-legged friend went missing. "I spent the entire night looking for him and I'm back at it this morning."
His dog, he said, loves treats. "He is super gentle and loves people. If you call him by his name he will come to you. I call him 'Blu Dog.'"
But it was a happy ending for Uys, with Blu back happily by his side.
