MATTITUCK, NY — At least one person was believed to be seriously injured after a two-car crash in Mattituck Wednesday night, officials said.

According to fire officials, the crash took place about 7:30 p.m. at the intersection of Mill Road and Country Road 48. Two people were reportedly pinned in their vehicles and needed extraction with the jaws of life; one person was believed to have sustained serious injuries, officials said.

The investigation was ongoing as of 10 p.m.; no additional information was immediately available.
