Shellabration will return to Greenport Village on December 4 & 5
Greenport Village to Host 10th Annual Shellabration in support of Cornell Cooperative Extension Marine Program!
Shellabration is back!
The Greenport Shellabration will return to Greenport Village on December 4-5, 2021, from Noon-4pm. Wristbands and sponsorship packages are now available and will gain participants access to Greenport’s finest establishments to enjoy local shellfish, and wine and beer pairings during a weekend long restaurant walk. All proceeds generated from wristband sales will support Cornell Cooperative Extension (CCE) Marine Program’s shellfish restoration and community stewardship projects, specifically the SPAT (Suffolk Project in Aquaculture Training) Program and Back to the Bays Initiative.
Participating restaurants will offer those wearing official Shellabration wristbands access to $8 small plate menu items featuring local shellfish, paired with $5 tasting pours of Long Island wine, craft beer, and spirits. Additionally, local shops will be offering special promotions for Shellabration participants, making for a wonderful weekend of eating, drinking and shopping local, all in support of our marine environment!

It is highly recommended that Shellabrants reserve wristbands in advance, as this event traditionally sells out, and capacity has been decreased this year. Wristbands are available for $35 Weekend Admission, and $25 Sunday Only Admission. Upon check-in during Shellabration weekend, Shellabrants will be provided with their wristband packages at the designated pick-up locations: Little Creek Oysters, Greenport Harbor Brewery, and new for this year a third check-in site, First and South. Check-in will open at 11am on December 4th. Shellabrants will be issued their wristbands and route maps, then be treated to a complimentary first pairing of oysters on the half shell and a local craft beverage tasting generously provided by Greenport Harbor Brewing Company and Borghese Vineyard.
“We kept the tradition going with Virtual Shellabration last year, but we are so happy to be able to bring this event back in-person this year, just in time to celebrate the 10th Anniversary of Greenport Shellabration,” said Kimberly Barbour, CCE Marine Program Outreach Manager. “This event is something that so many look forward to each year and is an important fundraiser for Cornell Marine Program. We are grateful for the continued support of the Greenport BID, and so appreciative of the Greenport Village community for hosting Shellabration!”
