Southold Bank Employee Stole More Than $35K From Customer's Account: Police
The woman was caught in Los Angeles, where she was now living, police say.

SOUTHOLD, NY — A former Southold bank employee has been charged with stealing more than $35,000 from a customer's account, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Sara L. Hando, 28, was arrested on Wednesday and charged with third degree grand larceny, a felony.
Hando was arrested in Los Angeles, California, after an investigation revealed that while she was employed at the bank in Southold Town between 2012 and 2013, she stole more than $35,000 from the account, police said.

Hando was indicted before a Suffolk County grand jury and as a result, an arrest warrant was issued for her arrest, Southold detectives said.
Hando was arrested at her home in California by the Los Angeles Police Department and then transported back to Suffolk County by the Suffolk County Police fugitive squad, police said.

Hando was then turned over to Southold Police where she was processed and then turned over to Suffolk County sheriffs to await arraignment, police said.
