Southold Man Steals Money From Roadside Stand's Cash Box: Cops

The incident occurred on Sunday night.

SOUTHOLD, NY - A Southold man was arrested after stealing cash from a roadside stand cash box on Tuesday afternoon, according to Southold Town Police.

The 19-year-old man was caught stealing cash from a wood stand cash box on Ackerly Pond Lane in Southold at about 4:30 p.m., police said.

He was stopped and found to be in possession of the money from the cash box and was placed under arrest for petty larceny and criminal possession of stolen property, according to police.

He was transported to headquarters to be processed and held to await arraignment.
