Southold Residents Support Students, Vote For School Budget

A familiar face on the Board of Education is back for another term.

SOUTHOLD, NY — The Southold Union Free School District's 2019 to 2020 $30,603,000 proposed budget passed Tuesday night by a vote of 381 to 129.

The budget calls for a 2.07 percent increase in spending over the current year and the tax levy increase is 2.97 percent, which is within the tax levy cap.

The budget calls for an additional security guard at the elementary school.

Incumbent Judi Fouchet ran unopposed to fill one open Board of Education seat and received 443 votes.
