Sweet Senior Beagle, Molly, Alone After Owner Is Evicted, 'Didn't Think It Was Fair For Her To Live In Car'

NORTH FORK, NY — A sweet senior beagle has found herself alone after her owner was evicted, according to the North Fork Animal Welfare League.

Molly, The League said, is an 11-year-old senior beagle that was recently surrendered and "is not cut out for shelter life."

Molly, The League said, is "very sweet and docile and would love the opportunity to be back in a home.

"Her owner recently got evicted and did not think it was fair for Molly to live in a car," The League said.

Molly is dog social but may prefer a quiet home, The League said.

Those interested in Molly can call 631-765-1811, Ext. 2, or visit her daily from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Riverhead Animal Shelter, located at 324 Church Lane.

"Come meet Molly," the League said.

And there are two other beagles hoping for their forever homes, The League said.

"Finn was the stray who got surrendered because the guy wanted him to be a hunting dog and he ran away," said Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations at The League.

"Finn is very sweet; he just wants love. He's a big cuddler, dog social, and loves snuggling," she said.

Manny, she added, is also a stray. "Manny is dog social, a typical hound – he follows his nose. There are no issues during bath time," Stroup said.

Both are 3 to 4 years old and are available at the Riverhead Animal Shelter at 324 Church Lane in Aquebogue.
