'Sweetheart' Pup Honey Bun 'Constantly Overlooked' At LI Shelter
"Honey Bun needs a break. She needs out of the shelter. Please help!" said Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations at The League.

NORTH FORK, NY — Honey Bun is a shelter pup desperately seeking her forever family.
Honey Bun has been at The League animal shelter, located at 269 Peconic Lane in Peconic, for four long months, according to Gabrielle Stroup, director of operations. "Poor dog," she said.
Honey Bun, a 1-year-old bully mix, she said, "is a total sweetheart who loves belly rubs. We have had her in with school kids who've taken class trips to the shelter — and all she wants to do it lay on their laps and get all the love."

Honey Bun is good with most other dogs, Stroup said.
"She came to us from another shelter in December, and she is constantly overlooked. She is a complete staff and volunteer favorite," Stroup said. "She even gets to spend some days with our volunteer coordinator at a hotel where she works, and she is perfect there."
