GREENPORT, NY — It's Taco Wednesday at Lucharitos in Greenport as a fundraiser unfolds to benefit local schoolchildren.
The event runs from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lucharitos on Main Street; tickets cost $15 and include a choice of three tacos — beef, chicken, pork or veggie — burrito or nachos. The child meal option includes a choice of beef tacos, or a chicken or cheese quesadilla. Call ahead takeout is available from Little Luchas' Aquebogue location.
Kim Moore-Swann, president of the Greenport PTO, said funds raised will help to meet year end expenses, including field day T-shirts for pre-K through 5th grade and field trip T-shirts for the 6th grade, as well as graduation cakes for kindergarten and 6th grade, yearbooks for the 6th grade, books for classrooms ranging from pre-K through 6th and finally, Teacher Appreciation Week.
