Thief Who Stole 2 Wallets from Mattituck Cars Caught: Police
BREAKING: The wallets and contents were valued at $1,300, police said.

MATTITUCK, NY — A Riverhead man who stole two wallets from cars in Mattituck has been caught, police said.
According to Southold Town Police, Charles Kendall Johnson, 31, of Riverhead, was arrested and charged with felony larceny after the incident that took place on August 6 on Route 25 in Mattituck.
Both wallets and contents were valued at more than $1,300, police said.

Johnson was arrested in Riverhead and transported to Southold Police headquarters, where he was processed and released on bail, police said.
Southampton Police assisted in the investigation, police said.

Another man was identified during the investigation, but not involved in the larceny, police said.
No other arrests expected in the investigation, police said.
