Tornado Warning Issued For East End Area

EAST END, NY —A tornado warning has been issued for the East End, according to the National Weather Service.

The warning, in effect until 4:30 p.m. was issued for Southampton, Hampton Bays, East Quogue, Riverhead, Flanders, Springs and in other areas across the East End. Residents were urged to seek shelter in a basement or interior room or on the lowest floor of a sturdy building or if outdoors, move to the closest shelter and protect themselves from flying debris, the National Weather Service said.
