Town To Unite For Martin Luther King Jr. Ceremony

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s life, legacy will be reflected upon on the East End. "Everyone can be great because everyone can serve."

CUTCHOGUE, NY — Once again, the North Fork community will gather to celebrate the life and vision of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

The event is scheduled for Sunday at 4 p.m. at the Cutchogue Presbyterian Church and North Fork Reform Synagogue, located at 27245 Main Road in Cutchogue., with keynote speaker Rev. Tisha Williams of the First Baptist Church of Bridgehampton.

Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. devoted his life to "quality, social justice, economic advancement and opportunity for all," said the Southold Town Anti-Bias Task Force, which organized the event. "He challenged us to build a more perfect union and taught us that everyone has a role to play in making America what it ought to be. He famously said, 'Everyone can be great because everyone can serve.'"
