Underage Drinking Enforcement Results In 2 Arrests: Cops

NORTH FORK, NY — Two were arrested Thursday after the New York State Police barracks in Riverside, along with the New York State Liquor Authority, conducted an underage drinker enforcement operation in the Town of Southold, police said.

During the operation, two establishments were cited for selling an alcoholic beverage to an undercover New York State Police operative under the age of 21, police said.

Arrested and charged with first degree unlawful dealing with a child and prohibited sale of an alcoholic beverage were Nicole Ekhardt, 32, of Greenport, a bartender at Lucharitos on Main Road in Greenport, and Karen Berry, 42, of Hampton Bays, a bartender at the Broken Down Valise on Pike St. in Mattituck, police said.
