EAST END, NY — Local eateries are saluting the nation's heroes on Veterans Day Saturday with some free and discounted meals, as a way of thanking them for their service.

Hellenic Snack Bar & Restaurant, East Marion: Free entree all day Saturday for all veterans. "Thank you for your service," said owner George Giannaris.
